Person Information

New advances and technical innovations make it possible to replace missing teeth permanently, using a titanium dental implant, without involving adjacent teeth, the end result being that only you will know that you have ever lost a tooth.

People affected by tooth loss often find eating in public difficult and traumatic or are not confident about their smile. When teeth are lost your jawbone actually shrinks away, and from scientific research we know that wearing dentures accelerates this process. This in turn affects the muscle tone to the face reducing bone support for the lips and cheeks.

Dental Implants -
Loose Denture Stabilisation

Dental Implants at Azure Dental, Liverpool

The majority of denture wearers suffer discomfort as a result of loose or ill-fitting dentures. If the problems are severe this can lead to withdrawal from social engagements as a result of wearing them.

Successful placement of the mini implants addresses and solves all of these social and practical problems. The new Mini and Midi Implants are the perfect system to provide greater denture stability for those unable to undergo regular implant treatment.

Once the implants are in place they act like a tooth root in the bone, allowing a denture to be securely attached, often with an audible CLICK as the denture is seated.

Dental Implants -
Replace Single or Multiple Teeth

Single missing teeth replaced by dental implants are fixed just like natural teeth freeing you from tooth preparation procedures for bridgework or the artificial feel and discomfort of partial dentures, allowing you to eat whatever you like without compromise. The replacement teeth look and feel completely natural.

The single dental implant is gently placed in to the space where you have missing teeth, over the top of this we create the natural looking tooth replacement, so that no-one would ever know you have lost a tooth.

This procedure should be done as soon as you loose a tooth, the single tooth dental implant prevents the bone from 'collapsing' in to the space where the natural tooth was - if this collapsing is allowed to happen it can often result in black triangles between the teeth where the gum shrinks back.

Dental Implants -
Full Teeth Replacement

A 'Full Arch Tooth Replacement' Is the name given to the replacement of a large number of missing teeth or all teeth in the upper and lower jaws. Opting for dental implants if you have no natural teeth at all will ensure that your replacement teeth look and feel natural and will function like natural teeth when you are eating and talking without having to take them out at night.

These full arch dental implants are fixed permanently in place so that the only one who knows you have dental implants is you.

All-on-4™

The revolutionary and life changing All-on-4™ concept reduces the number of dental implants required to restore an entire arch of teeth and enables fixed bridgework to be fitted to dental implants on the same day of implant placement avoiding the need for dentures.

It is very important to replace missing teeth to not only preserve the functionality of your mouth, but also to allow you to chew food easily. If you are missing most or all of your teeth, there is a chance your cheeks may begin to sag inwards and make you appear older than you are. Implants like All-on-4™ are increasingly preferred over removable dentures because they are a permanent solution to tooth loss. The titanium implants fuse with the jaw bone for enduring stability so there is no need to worry about your dentures slipping or having to replace them.

Dental Implants at Azure Dental, Liverpool

This technique was developed to provide patients who had experienced total tooth loss with an efficient treatment concept using only four dental implants to support a full arch of teeth.

Two dental implants are placed vertically in the front of the jawbone with the remaining two dental implants placed at the back of the jaw, tilted up to 45°, which means less bone is needed. Traditional fixed full arch dental implant techniques require 6-10 implants with a period of healing time where the bridge cannot be fixed to the implants. Extensive bone grafting for implant placement may also be required.

With the All-on-4™ technique, the bone to implant contact is optimised and the need for any bone grafting is minimised. Also the angled implants can be anchored in the better quality bone found at the front of your jaw. Tilting the implants also helps avoid vital structures, the sinuses and nerves.

The configuration and position of the implants along the jaw once braced together with the Titanium framework, helps to spread the forces transmitted from the teeth to the jaw bone, allowing for better distribution of biting forces from a full arch of replacement teeth.

Complete denture replacement- no need to remove a denture after meals or at night time. The full arch of teeth can be cared for and cleaned just like natural teeth

The full arch of teeth fits the natural contours of your mouth, improving facial structure and preventing sagging or hollow cheeks. Replacement teeth that feel like a full set of natural teeth increasing self confidence and quality of life

No compromise on taste as the full arch of upper teeth does not cover the roof of your mouth

Your ability to bite is greatly increased so you can enjoy the foods you previously could not

Choose from a wider choice of food with a more varied diet for healthier living. Promotes a healthy jawbone by preventing further bone loss.

The entire procedure can be completed in just one day with an immediate loading concept that avoids multiple procedures, minimal recovery time with very little discomfort.

Are you suitable for the All-on-4™ technique?

All-on-4™ is suitable for patients who want a permanent fixed solution rather than removable full dentures. The All-on-4™ technique offers permanent fixed teeth in a day
Individuals suitable for All-on-4™ are those that:

Have loose dentures that affect their quality of life

Have severe gum disease and tooth loss

Have suffered loss of bone due to the loss of their teeth

Have failing crowns and bridges along with loose teeth that need extracting

Have been told that they do not have enough bone for dental implants

What does the All-on-4™ procedure involve?

First you attend a consultation at Azure Dental where you can discuss your suitability for treatment and ask any questions that you may have about treatment.

Following this you will need to undergo a CT scan, imaging and diagnostics so that a digital 3D treatment plan of your procedure can be designed, which ensures a highly accurate, safe and predictable dental implant placement. You will also have the opportunity to discuss the look of your new teeth.

If you are a candidate for All-on-4™ then a detailed treatment plan will be provided. At the next appointment the dental implants will be placed according to the All-on-4™ protocols and if required the removal of any remaining teeth. Four dental implants are placed with the implants at the back of your jaw placed at an angle.

A provisional fixed bridge will then be finalised and secured to the dental implants. Within a few hours you will be able to go home with a new smile and get on with your everyday life. After approximately three to six months once your implants are fully healed and integrated into your jaw, your final fixed bridge can then be manufactured.
